Welcome Eliezer (ZZ), our newest addition to the infant rescue. Dr Karen McCarthy and I found him last week when we were doing clinic on Delmas 48. He is in the beginning stages of kwashiorkor (protein deficiency malnutrition) and he had an ongoing case of diarrhea. He is 15 months old and he weighs 14 pounds. He's been getting protein supplements and vitamins and antibiotics since his arrival and he's doing well.
