Dear Cheez-It Corporation,

I work in Haiti at a home for sick and malnourished babies. This week, we received a new addition to our family: Rosetaina, a 21 month old who only weighs 10 1/2 pounds. She is HIV positive with a CD4 count of 273, just inches away from fullblown AIDS. The little girl is very sick and very weak.

We have tried feeding TiRose everything: formula, baby food, Cheerios, yogurt, pudding, oatmeal, rice, banana, bread, even lasagna. She refuses it all. I have put a feeding tube down her nose so that we can get some fluids into her, but she needs to eat! Fortunately, a few days ago, we discovered the one food that our TiBird will consistently eat: Cheez-Its!

Since the Cheez-It breakthrough, TiRose has been steadily improving. She has the strength to sit up without assistance now. She can play with simple toys and she cries less frequently. She has begun to smile and even laugh!

From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank you for creating such a miracle cracker. You must truly care about the less fortunate on our planet. And if I might make a small suggestion, have you ever considered producing a nutritionally enhanced Cheez-It with iron, calcium, protein, and vitamin B? Your sales to Haitian rescue centers would increase exponentially.

THANK YOU CHEEZ-IT!!

Sincerely,

Keziah Furth, Rosetaina, and the staff of Faith Hope Love Infant Rescue

(NOTE to my blog followers: This whole story is actually true. We are hoping Cheez-It will use the story for tv commercials and give us royalties every time it airs. At the very least, they could give us a lifetime supply of Cheez-Its.)
