Hanging on

Quick update on Moise (Moses), my little tetanus baby: He is still alive! We were able to get him into a very good free hospital 2 weeks ago and he has stayed there since, accompanied by his foster mom and grandmom. I've been able to visit him once and they call me every few days to let me know how things are going. The doctors did a spinal tap (I was amazed!) and discovered that he had bacterial meningitis. So either we were wrong about the tetanus or he had both together. I don't know. The docs also took him to surgery and removed the abscesses under his arm. He has been off IV's and off oxygen for nearly a week, but he still looks horrible, in a lot of pain and extremely wasted. When I saw him on Wednesday, the staff said he would probably need a few more weeks in the hospital but that they were hopeful for him.

Thanks for praying for him. He is a real fighter and I can't wait to see him fully healthy in a few months!
