I already have a rather extensive non-biological family - a French little brother, a Haitian godson, a surrogate little sister in Maine, a French family, my unofficial son Emmanuel, my Johnny J, a Georgian brother, a Haitian maman, a Haitian papa, and a sister in Belgium. Today, I added another brother to the mix. I was watching a basketball game with most of my QCS freshmen and they asked me why I always paint my toe nails two different colors. I told them about Chad, a little boy at camp who had started me on the multicolored thing, and how he considered me like a mother to him. 14 year old Abraham nodded matter of factly and said, "Well, you're like a sister to me, Miss Furth."
Welcome to the family, Abraham.
